Gross motor development in urban and rural schoolchildren

Abstract
The research aimed; "Describe the differences between the level of gross motor development of schoolchildren in urban and rural areas. A quantitative approach was used, with descriptive scope with a non-experimental design transeccional court. The sample was not probabilistic judgment and made up a total of 32 schools (17 urban and 16 rural). These students were subjected to the test of gross motor development TGMD-2. In relation to these data argue that the bulk of the evaluated urban and rural areas of motor development are categorized in 93.7% and 94% respectively higher than expected and age categories, the fundamental difference is the total percentages obtained according to specific categories, gaining 6.25% urban population and 41.1% rural population over the age categories, superior and very superior. Depending on these results, it can be concluded that the level of expected and / or higher age for gross motor development is at best levels in rural population.
